The Space Between
Nineteen 11x16, Chromogenic prints, individually mounted on matboard, 2011
Life is not made up of landmarks and destinations, but a series of passageways. This work draws focus to the points in space and time between A and B that we ignore, or forget, through the interaction between an image, sight, or memory, and the place in which it occurs. I have combined photographs to create a visual experience that both engages and challenges the viewer. As a result, encouraging a visual awareness through this constructed, disjointed narrative of transitional spaces that are universal yet commonly overlooked and unnoticed.

Landscaping, Archival prints, double mounted on matboard, 11x14, 2010
Inspired by the Documentary Genre of photography, this work engages with the ongoing construction taking place throughout the City of Guelph. Interested in the juxtaposition between human and machine, these photographs are an exploration in finding (or forcing) similarities and connections between these two contrasting subjects.

Full stops and exclamation marks, RC print, 48x60,2009
A photo mural taken just before midnight in the abandoned shed in my backyard in Guelph, ON. I was interested in producing a photograph that draws attention to the way photographs are created, essentially what a photograph is – the capturing of light exposed to film. I physically mimicked/manipulated what the camera does when capturing a photograph by painting light onto an area of the structure so only certain parts would be visible, along with light seeping through from existing sources outside.
